IT Standards

An enterprise such as UNM requires a variety of governing directives to successfully deliver IT services to the community of students, faculty and staff. In turn, the same governing directives enable the community of students, faculty, and staff to use IT services at UNM in an appropriate, ethical, and lawful manner. Whether a UNM Policy, an IT Operational Procedure or Guideline, or a standard developed by IT groups across campus, all these governing directives work in concert to further the the education, research, and public services mission of the University.

Groups across campus, including IT, are engaged in developing IT standards for the effective use of technology across all UNM campuses. Need more information? View the IT Standards Process flowchart.

Standards may be requested through the IT Strategic Advisory Committee, or from the Office of the CIO. A small team will be convened that will propose a draft for campus input and executive approval.
