An enterprise such as UNM requires a variety of governing directives to successfully deliver IT services to the community of students, faculty and staff. In turn, the same governing directives enable the community of students, faculty, and staff to use IT services at UNM in an appropriate, ethical, and lawful manner. Whether a UNM Policy, an IT Operational Procedure or Guideline, or a standard developed by IT groups across campus, all these governing directives work in concert to further the the education, research, and public services mission of the University.

IT Standards

Groups across campus, including IT, are engaged in developing IT standards for the effective use of technology across all UNM campuses. Need more information? Read about the IT Standards Process

Standards may be requested for development through any of the IT governing bodies, the IT Cabinet, IT Agents, IT Managers or the IT leadership team. IT governing bodies review drafts, during which time they are available on this site for comment from the public to the contact person who is coordinating the development of the standard.

You may make comments about Draft Standards at the UNM Discussion Boards. A valid UNM NetID and password are required to post comments.

After review, public comment and endorsement by the IT Cabinet, the CIO signs the standard and it is considered approved.
